New 2024 Lexus UX Horsepower, Redesign, MPG – Compared to the previous Lexus model, the UX appears to be a godsend. In the past, the company tried to cash in on its well-earned reputation by releasing a subpar entry-level model. It was slow, terrible to drive, and ridiculous in its design.
It was a horrible vehicle. It appeared as if two different cars had been welded together. After the sales numbers showed that the US market didn’t respond well to this hybrid hatchback, Lexus had to reconsider its approach. Lexus was able to get the solution it was seeking. It needed to be more off-road capable than a hatchback. Its hybrid drivetrain was an afterthought to differentiate it from the competition.
2024 Lexus UX Redesign
In terms of the 2024 Lexus UX, Lexus isn’t making any significant alterations. However, for the 2024 model year, there will be additional interior and exterior color options. It is now possible to use Cloudburst Gray and Grecian Water exterior paints in conjunction with select interior colors, such as Black, Birch, and Birch with Lapis. The Grecian Water paint can only be used in these combinations. This color is no longer available. Color-coordinated fender flares are now available as an option for plastic overfenders, although they’re standard on all other trims.
The F Sport badge on the liftgate has been removed, as have a few other small changes to the outside of the car. Currently, Lexus has a well-known design language that is applied to all of their vehicles. The spindle grille, sharp headlights, and single light bar at the back of the UX distinguish it from competitors. From one extreme to the other, you’re left with harsh, angular contours. In order to stand out in the most fiercely competitive market in the United States, you have to offer customers something to ponder.
The interior quality more than compensates for the subpar performance. For added sportiness, the windshield is slanted toward the driver. There is enough Japanese eccentricity to dispel any lingering doubts that this vehicle isn’t a Germanic 2024 Lexus UX SUV. As a consequence, it feels as though it might survive for decades without a single piece of cheap plastic.
Lexus provides a lot of premium equipment as standard because the focus is on comfort. This vehicle is equipped with a leather steering wheel, a power-adjustable lumbar support seat, and dual zone temperature control. If you’re willing to spend a lot of money, you’ll receive a lot of luxury. There are larger bolsters on the seats in the F Sport variants and LED-illuminated air vent knobs in the Luxury models. The latter may appear gimmicky at first, but once you’ve used it in the dark, you’ll wonder why it isn’t standard equipment on all vehicles.
The 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine used in both the 200 and 250h models is the same. In order to keep it as light as possible, this innovative drivetrain makes use of a number of different technologies. As a consequence, 169 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque have been achieved. Lexus does not provide a torque value for the 250h’s electric motor, which raises the power output to 181 horsepower. Lexus calls the 10-speed CVT a “continuously variable gearbox,” or CVT, as it’s more often referred to. If you want to feel like you’re driving a typical torque-converter automatic, you’ll need a CVT transmission.
In any event, customers won’t notice if it has ten or a hundred gears. Because Toyota has more expertise with CVT transmissions than most other manufacturers, its CVT isn’t as irritating as you might imagine. Fortunately, It’s great in town, but it struggles on the interstate. For optimum fuel economy, it’s important to understand how to work with merging and overtaking maneuvers rather than resist or fight them. Lexus adds synthetic engine sounds to the inside to mask the CVT’s unpleasant drone.
2024 Lexus UX Release Date and Price
The Lexus UX 200’s starting price is $33,000. It costs $35,340 for the 200 UX F Sport and $38,040 for the Luxury variant, respectively. There are two hybrid models on the market: the 250h AWD and the 250h F Sport AWD. At $40,240, the 250h Luxury AWD is the most expensive option. The $1,075 delivery, processing, and handling charge is not included in this pricing.
